Wear clothing for the season and always take bug repellent. The areas that are shallow in water are also great places for mosquitoes.
Once you are out there looking for the exact place you want to throw your hook in, you need to know what to look for. Water that is less than about eight feet in depth is what you will be looking for. You will also want an area of water that has stumps or other kinds of things for fish to hide under.
